BBC Sportsound pundit raves about Ryan Jack despite Rangers defeat at Celtic
Kenny Miller was impressed by Ryan Jack’s performance as Rangers lost 3-0 away at Celtic Park on Wednesday night.
Jack, 29, was substituted into the Old Firm tie at half-time with Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side already three behind and performed brilliantly.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t help the Gers get back into the game but ex-Gers and Celtic striker Miller was happy with what he saw from the midfielder.

“Ryan’s definitely made a difference and I know they’re 3-0 down and Celtic have kind of changed a little bit in how they’re going about their business. But Ryan has been excellent,” said Miller on BBC Sportsound on Wednesday night [09:17pm, 2 February].
“He’s been out a long, long time and this will do him the world of good to come back in a game of this size and impact it the way he has.”
Brilliant Jack
At least we have one positive to take from that defeat at Celtic Park because Jack played superbly well after he came on.
The former Aberdeen star controlled the midfield, helped us retain possession, launched attacks from deep, sprayed the ball from right to left and also nearly scored with a rocket of a shot from distance.
According to stats by WhoScored, Jack completed 48 passes after he came onto the pitch – only Connor Goldson and Calvin Bassey completed more for the Light Blues in the game.

It puts to shame the performances of players like Scott Arfield and Joe Aribo while Glen Kamara, who Jack replaced, completed just 26 passes before he was hooked.
Jack was brilliant and has played his way into van Bronckhorst’s starting line-up, surely.
However, who misses out with Aaron Ramsey also now at Ibrox? We have Jack, Arfield, Kamara, Aribo and Ramsey to fit into the midfield.
It’s a good problem to have, we suppose.
In other Rangers news, a player who rejected a deadline-day exit from his club is wanted by the Light Blues for the summer.
