Chris Sutton and John Hartson react instantly on Twitter as Celtic win 3-0 over Rangers

Chris Sutton paid tribute to his former club Celtic after they dismantled Rangers in the Old Firm derby at Parkhead on Wednesday night.

Reo Hatete’s brace, followed by a goal by Liel Abada, rounded off a 3-0 win for the Hoops before half-time.

Rangers have now dropped to second in the Scottish Premiership as Giovanni van Bronckhorst tasted defeat for the first time in charge of the Ibrox giants.

Sutton is happy with the win but says it’s not over year in the race for the title.

“An absolute pumping but nothing won yet,” said Sutton via his personal Twitter account straight after the game ended on Wednesday night.

“Celtic have come so far under Ange Postecoglou but need to carry on being relentless.

“Hatate, O Riley and Juranovic absolutely outstanding and massive balls from Callum McGregor. Really liked Giakoumakis tonight as well.”

John Hartson also tweeted, saying similar things about his former club.

“Celtic brilliant performance and result. Carter-Vickers, immense. Hatete, sensational.

“Celtic Park was rocking tonight, to a man, Celtic great win 3-0!

“Enjoy tonight then let’s kick on.”

Disgraceful

Van Bronckhorst and every single one of his players needs to apologise for that performance because it was just about the worst we’ve seen this club perform since the days of Pedro Caixinha.

It was rotten and barely any of those players did anything to justify why they have the honour of playing for this football club.

Ryan Jack improved things tenfold in the second half when he came off the bench and was the only Rangers player we can hold our hands up and say that he played well.

But as for everyone else, that was shocking, woeful and an absolute disgrace.

Celtic did play well, if we’re honest. But it was made easier for them by players like Borna Barisic and Ryan Kent not even bothering to put in an ounce of effort to try and play well.

Barisic was an embarrassment. What on earth was he playing at in the first half?

The only thing van Bronckhorst got right was taking him off but he needs to back that up by not ever starting him again.

In other Rangers news, a player who rejected a deadline-day exit from his club is wanted by the Light Blues for the summer.
