Rangers worked on Aaron Ramsey transfer since last week – Ross Wilson
Rangers started work on their dramatic deadline day signing of Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey last week, according to Sporting director Ross Wilson.
The Bears completed the signing of the former Arsenal midfielder on a loan deal for the rest of the season, after seeing off competition from Premier League clubs.
While the deal only came to light on the morning of deadline day, Wilson revealed that the opportunity to sign the Wales international actually arose last week and the club have been working hard ever since to get it done.

“This is a really exciting signing for both Rangers and Aaron,” he told the club website. “As soon as I was made aware of the opportunity we had to bring Aaron to Rangers around a week ago, we have worked really hard to secure his signature.
“Not only is Aaron a world-class player who will play a key role in our team, his level of ability and professional standards will be an inspiration to our existing players.”
Massive
For Rangers to get this deal done ahead of a multitude of top clubs that were also in for Ramsey is a huge credit to the team behind the scenes.
The fact they were able to keep the deal quiet until it was essentially all done is all the more impressive too, considering the reputation the player carries too.

They managed to complete a deal that didn’t break their wage structure too and have significantly strengthened their squad during the January window now.
A title race against Celtic is well and truly on, especially with recent poor results, but Van Bronckhorst has been backed to the hilt and will now be expected to deliver.
Ramsey will add plenty to the team and the league as a whole, and it’s Rangers who will be the benefactors of the fruit of that labour now thanks to the great work of Wilson and co.
