McCoist fires back at Durham after Rangers-Ramsey claims

Ally McCoist has hit back at Adrian Durham after he questioned Aaron Ramsey’s move to Rangers.

Ramsey has joined the Gers on loan until the end of the season with Juventus continuing to pay the bulk of his huge six-figure weekly wage [Daily Mail].

Durham wasn’t happy with the details surrounding the move claiming the Old Lady are ‘subsidising’ Rangers’ title push.

“Clubs do it, they take players on loan to strengthen their position between now and the end of the season,” McCoist replied on TalkSPORT.

“We didn’t make the rules, we didn’t break the rules. What we are doing is abiding by the rules.”

Jealous

As long as the deal has been made within the rules, which it seems to have been, everything is fine at Ibrox.

It has come as somewhat of a surprise that Juventus are willing to pay most of the Welshman’s wages as that doesn’t seem to benefit them, but the Bears won’t be complaining.

Rangers

The Italian outfit must have been keen on getting rid of him after hardly playing for them in recent times, but the hope is Ramsey can turn things around in Scotland.

There was some confusion caused by the deal; a lot of teams were in for Ramsey, many of them may have been willing to pay more than the Gers but that’s none of their concern.

He is an extremely decorated player with bags of experience and talent whom the team could really do with from now until the end of the season.

His presence on and off the pitch could be vital in the Gers’ push for the title as well as European success and to get him in the manner they did is amazing.

Hats off to the Rangers recruitment team because this deal is huge for the club and for Scottish football.
