Mateusz Zukowski posts message on Twitter after signing for Rangers

While Aaron Ramsey grabbed the headlines on the deadline day, Rangers also did manage to sign Mateusz Zukowski from Lechia Gdansk for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old joined the Light Blues on a three-and-a-half-year deal subject to an application for a work permit.

The Poland under-21 international took to Twitter to express his reaction after completing the move.

He simply wrote two words on Twitter: “New chapter”

Depth

Rangers needed to sign a new right-back in January following the departure of Nathan Patterson.

The highly-rated young talent joined Everton on a club-record deal, leaving the Gers short of options at right-back.

James Tavernier, the skipper, is the first-choice right-back at the club and Zukowski will serve as a back-up option.

He has top-flight experience in the Polish league and was part of the Lechia squad which won the Polish Cup back in 2019.

Rangers

Rangers also signed James Sands last month on loan from New York City. He has mainly played as a midfielder under Giovanni van Bronckhorst, but he is well capable of playing as a right-back.

However, the biggest talking point has to be the signing of Ramsey on loan from Juventus.

The former Arsenal midfielder is a world-class player and he can play a big role for the club in securing back to back titles if Rangers can get him fit for the rest of the season.

In other Rangers news, the Light Blues were rejected by this Premier League player late in January despite an offer being made.
