Aaron Ramsey passes medical ahead of signing for Rangers from Juventus

Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey has passed a medical at Rangers ahead of joining on deadline day, according to Romeo Agresti.

Writing via his personal Twitter account at 05:58pm on 31 January, the Goal journalist reported that the 30-year-old’s move to Ibrox is now set to be announced “soon”.

Fabrizio Romano reported earlier today that Ramsey is joining the Light Blues on an initial loan deal but the Scottish giants have the option to make the deal permanent in the summer.

Huge coup

Rangers have played an absolute blinder here by signing someone who’s been one of the top central midfielders in British football in recent years.

Ramsey may have gone backwards a bit at the back-end of his spell at Arsenal and he hasn’t lived up to the hype at Juventus.

However, the Wales international is someone who will walk straight into Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s starting line-up and really add some star quality to a midfield that has struggled at times this season.

Rangers

Just let this sink in for a moment – Rangers have got rid of Juninho Bacuna this month and are signing Ramsey as a replacement.

Wow.

Wednesday night will be absolutely massive for the club as they take on Celtic at Parkhead in the Scottish Premiership.

It’s a must-not-lose match for the Light Blues, who could have Ramsey in their line-up or possibly on the bench if he’s registered before the midnight deadline tonight.

Our chances of winning that game will go up massively if all is good.

In other Rangers news, there’s been a major last-ditch update on John Souttar joining us permanently now from Hearts.
