View: Dembele update from Sky Sports shouldn’t deter Rangers
Rangers’ long term interest in Peterborough United attacker Siriki Dembele could well be quashed with Bournemouth having agreed a deal with Posh, according to Mark McAdam, Sky Sports.
The 25-year-old is out of contract at London Road in the summer and Rangers were hoping to sign him on a pre-contract agreement this transfer window [Peterborough Telegraph].
But with the Championship side wanting to earn a transfer fee, Dembele looks set to be joining the Cherries before the window slams shut.
There is still hope for Rangers with personal terms not yet agreed with the player but all the signs point to Dembele donning the red and black soon.
While it is a shame that the Gers weren’t able to complete a deal, it isn’t and was never going to be the be-all and end-all of their window.
They recently brought in Manchester United winger Amad Diallo on loan for the season and the Ivorian teenager scored just five minutes into his debut away at Ross County.
Ryan Kent is another star winger who would be considered one of the best in the Scottish Premiership and no team plays with more than two wingers at any given time.

Even if one of those are unavailable, as Kent has been thanks to suspension in recent weeks, Giovanni van Bronckhorst can still call upon Fashion Sakala and Scott Wright to cause havoc out wide.
Dembele would have been a fun addition next season but his attacking returns have always deserted him at both Peterborough and Grimsby Town, where he made his name in the EFL.
Put it this way, no Rangers fan should be losing sleep thinking about what could have been when it comes to Dembele as they have better options at the club already.
In other Rangers news, this club are willing to pay £7million for this Ibrox hero before 31 January.
