Fenerbahce in talks to seal last-ditch move for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos

Fenerbahce are in negotiations with Rangers over a late winter deal to sign Alfredo Morelos, according to Sporx.

The Turkish news outlet claims Fenerbahce want to sign a striker before the transfer window over there closes on February 8.

It is understood that talks are underway for the Istanbul club to sign Morelos for just £4.9million.

Absolutely no chance

If Fenerbahce really think they can come in and talk about a deal for Morelos that costs less than £5million, Ross Wilson needs to block their emails and their phone number because that is insulting.

Morelos is the best striker in Scottish football by a mile.

He’s scored 107 goals in 212 appearances across all competitions for the Gers since joining us from HJK Helsinki in 2017.

Morelos will enter the final year of his contract this summer so we can understand his value not being the highest it can be. But anything less than eight-digits is pathetic and Rangers need to stop these supposed talks as soon as possible.

Morelos’ value to the team has been clear for all to see in the last two games when he’s been missing against Ross County and Livingston.

Cedric Itten has been woeful since his loan in Germany ended and Fashion Sakala seems to enjoy playing out on the wing more.

Fenerbahce have another week to make signings before their transfer window closes in Turkey but if Rangers sell Morelos, they will have to replace him.

And that’s not something the club can afford to risk.
