Ex-Leicester left-back Johnly Yfeko heads to Auchenhowie, likely to sign for Rangers B team
Giovanni van Bronckhorst wants to continue adding to the Rangers squad before the transfer window closes on Monday, according to Glasgow Evening Times journalist Chris Jack.
And the newspaper has reported via their print edition on Saturday [29 January, page 47] that young left-back Johnly Yfeko is set to join after heading to Auchenhowie for a trial throughout the duration of this week.
It is understood that the 17-year-old defender, who was released by Leicester last summer, has been handed the chance to impress at Rangers’ training ground before possibly signing.

If Yfeko signs, he’s likely to be added to the Light Blues’ B team.
Writing on the Evening Times’ website, Jack adds that Yfeko was previously wanted by Southampton.

Rangers fans won’t need to get excited about this one just yet but Yfeko will be a player who we’ll want to keep an eye on during his time at Ibrox.
Leicester have a knack for producing great young talents.
Calvin Bassey, Ben Chilwell, Harvey Barnes and Luke Thomas are recent graduates of the Foxes’ academy. If you go back a bit further, ex-Rangers loanee Andy King also came through there.

Southampton’s academy recruitment is also superb so for them to have looked at Yfeko suggests there’s another reason to think he could be a good long-term addition in Glasgow.
Ultimately, we’ll have to wait a few years to see if Yfeko emerges and breaks into the senior side but the fact that there’s some more action on the cards at Ibrox, in terms of signings, is exciting.
Our 3-3 draw with Ross County on Saturday wasn’t good enough and our performances versus Aberdeen and Livingston were nowhere near what we expected to see.
One or two more signings could make the world of difference ahead of the Old Firm on Wednesday night.
