Michael Stewart tips Alex Lowry for Rangers run, makes career prediction
Michael Stewart has tipped Alex Lowry to have a “wonderful” career and thinks he should get a run in the Rangers side following his performance last night.
The teenage sensation responded to being handed his first start in a Light Blue shirt by dazzling with his quick feet and ball control, proving he was more than equal to the occasion.
And speaking on BBC Sportscene on Wednesday night (January 26) the ex-Hearts and Hibs player predicted more success in the 18-year-old’s short-term and long-term future.

After Lowry twisted Livingston defenders in different directions and put an inviting ball across the six-yard-box in the first half, the former midfielder said: “He’s a youngster who literally does have all the attributes to go on and have a wonderful career.
“He’s obviously got to continue to work very hard, and keep working at it.”
And he tipped the young Scot to step up and fill the gap left by the injured Ianis Hagi, despite Joe Aribo and Ryan Kent both due to return to the side, saying: “There’s no reason why he should be getting dropped. It’s wonderful to see another young Scottish player coming through.”
Bright future
Lowry has been a revelation since Giovanni van Bronckhorst gave him his chance in the first team, opening the scoring in the cup defeat of Stirling Albion, and being one of the stand-out performers at Ibrox last night.
He appears to be a player with confidence that belies his age, as he looked to be one of the leaders of a Gers side missing some of its key performers.
Along with the direct and dangerous Fashion Sakala, the teenager provided plenty of creativity and purpose on a difficult night.

It took until a late goal from substitute Scott Arfield for the crucial three points to be secured, but without the input of the youngster Gers could easily have wilted under the pressure.
He has certainly played his way into contention for the upcoming matches, including the massive Old Firm derby next month.
And based on his early showings, Stewart’s view for the future looks like a good bet.
In other Rangers news, the Ibrox News player ratings are in from last night’s victory.
