Early team news: Rangers Duo in squad for Ross County trip, potential debut

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has provided an update on where some of his players are with an away trip to Ross County up next for the Gers.

Amad Diallo joined the club on loan from Manchester United on Thursday (27 January) and he is immediately available for selection to make his debut in the Scottish Premiership.

Joe Aribo is also due to be in the travelling party as he is now ready to make his comeback having been knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria.

Fellow midfielder Ryan Jack is also ready to play more of a role having come off the bench against Livingston in midweek.

Best attack in the league

The addition of Diallo was one desperately needed for van Bronckhorst and it has completed what is probably the best front three in the division.

The Ivorian teenager prefers to play on the right flank and drift inside onto his stronger left foot and that is a position that Rangers have needed.

Scott Wright has done reasonably well in that area but if they want to go further in both the League and in Europe, they needed to improve, and they have.

Partner Diallo with Morelos, when he returns from international duty, and Ryan Kent, who is back from suspension, and that is a forward line almost uncontainable for any defence in the country.

Aribo’s return is a timely one too with Ianis Hagi ruled out for the season with an injury of his own and the Nigerian the glue to the Light Blues’ team.

In other Rangers news, reports suggest the club has made an official approach for a player on the blue side of Manchester.
