David Edgar shares instant reaction as Juninho Bacuna seals Rangers exit

David Edgar has shared his reaction on Twitter after Rangers have confirmed today (27 January) that they have accepted an offer for Juninho Bacuna from Birmingham City.

The Curacao international joined the Gers back in August from Huddersfield Town, signed by former Gers boss Steven Gerrard.

He struggled for regular games at the club, and Giovanni van Bronckhorst allowed him to move back to Championship.

Writing on the Heart and Hand Podcast’s official Twitter account, the official partner has shared how much Rangers have received from his sale.

Edgar wrote (27 January): “£400k plus add-ons, apparently.”

Good move

Bacuna played in the 4-0 win over Stirling Albion in the Scottish Cup clash but overall he has really struggled at Ibrox.

He has managed only 12 appearances for the club and netted his only goal in a win over Ross County.

While it was initially feared that Rangers would lack depth in the squad following his departure coupled with the injury to Ianis Hagi, Van Bronckhorst has allayed the fears by signing Amad Diallo from Manchester United today (27 January) till the end of the season.

Clearly, the move to Rangers hasn’t worked out for him.

Young talent Alex Lowry has impressed in his opening two games and the Dutchman is likely to give him more opportunities going forward.

Rangers have also signed James Sands from New York City on loan and have agreed a pre-contract deal for Hearts defender John Souttar.

In other Rangers news, the BBC are facing a multi-million-pound defamation action over Gers documentary.
