David Edgar reacts as Rangers complete loan move for Amad Diallo

David Edgar has been left thrilled after hearing that Rangers are set to sign Manchester United attacker Ahmad Diallo on loan till the end of 2021-22.

The reliable Fabrizio Romano reported earlier today that a deal for the 19-year-old is expected to be wrapped up in the coming hours, with an option to buy not included in the six-month contract, and that has now been officially announced.

Writing on the Heart and Hand Podcast’s official Twitter account on Friday afternoon, the club’s official media partner was very delighted to hear the news.

Edgar said: “This boy is dynamite by the way.

“United paid £35million to get him.”

Absolutely

Diallo surely has huge potential and a very bright future ahead of him for Man Utd to have splashed the cash on him, and while he has not hit the ground running at Old Trafford, the Ivory Coast youth international remains a top talent.

Rangers wanted an emergency cover for Ianis Hagi after injury ruled the attacker out of the season, and they have landed the perfect man for the job.

Diallo has only played once for the first-team this season, and he has had to do with under-23s football, scoring twice and assisting once in two Premier League 2 games.

Last season, the Ivorian bagged four goals and three assists in three Premier League 2 games, scoring once in four Europa League games and assisting another in three Premier League games.

Should he manage to hit the ground running at Ibrox, Rangers could receive a massive boost in their race to retain the title and win the Scottish Cup.

Given Diallo’s huge talents, the fans are very excited about this deal, and it will be interesting to see how he fares in the Scottish Premiership between now and the end of the campaign.
