Rangers nowhere near close to signing Skov Olsen - Fabrizio Romano

The 4th Official and Fabrizio Romano are reporting that Rangers are nowhere near close to signing Andreas Skov Olsen from Bologna.

Writing on their Patreon account, with the help of transfer guru Romano, The 4th Official has been told by a source at Bologna that there is ”nothing at all close with Rangers”.

It is understood that the Gers are interested in the 22-year-old Denmark international and no recent bid has been made.

The 4th Official has become a top source for information on stories coming out of Ibrox and their recent link-up with Romano shows their growing stature. They also worked together on Nathan Patterson’s move to Everton earlier this month.

Their update on Skov Olsen adds: “It will be interesting to see thorough if Rangers ramp up the interest and whether they can match the hefty asking price of Bologna in the coming days.”

Struggling

Rangers have been fairly quiet this month.

James Sands was brought in from New York City in a deal that could really have waited until the summer with Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side already having a whole host of central midfield options.

Our issues, especially now with Ianis Hagi injured, are in the wide areas and in the central attacking midfield role.

Skov Olsen is an out-and-out right-winger so should slot seamlessly into van Bronckhorst’s attack if he comes in.

However, the issue seems to be the amount of money that Bologna are demanding for the Danish attacker.

It’s hard to see why they’re pricing Rangers out of a move when Skov Olsen has started just six Serie A matches this season.

But that’s their decision, he’s their player and they can value him at whatever fee they like.

Rangers can keep pushing though. Maybe it’ll result in the player pushing for the move or Bologna deciding at late doors they’re open to a sale.

In other Rangers news, six changes are expected to be made against Livingston.
