Rangers confirmed XI v Livingston: Alex Lowry starts

Rangers have made as many as seven changes to their starting XI for the Scottish Premiership clash against Livingston on Wednesday evening at Ibrox.

The Gers won their previous game against Stirling Albion 4-0 in the Scottish Cup, but they will be looking to return to winning ways in the league after managing a 1-1 draw against Aberdeen.

Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, the Bears have also handed starts to Alex Lowry, who starts for the first time in professional football, and James Sands. Alan McGregor also returns to the side.

McGregor is back in goal in place of Jon McLaughlin.

Calvin Bassey, Borna Barisic, Glen Kamara, Scott Wright, Lowry, and Sands have all come into the side in place of Leon Balogun, John Lundstram, Hagi, Juninho Bacuna, Brandon Barker and Jack Simpson.

Losing Hagi is a massive blow for the club and it remains to be seen how they replenish his void this season.

The Romanian international has been in fantastic form this season, although he was mainly used in the right-wing.

It remains to be seen whether the club will sign any player in the remaining few days of the transfer window to fill his void.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has made a dream start at Ibrox since taking charge at the club, and he is undefeated so far.

The draw against the Dons broke their perfect record in the league, but there’s little to worry about.

Rangers are still four points ahead of Celtic, and they should focus on winning their games.

The Gers need to pick up the momentum ahead of their massive SPFL clash against Celtic at Parkhead next month.

However, they must ignore thoughts of Old Firm clash now, and take it game by game.

In other Rangers news, this Eastern European ace may emerge as a target for the Gers in the last few days of the window.
