Rangers ace earns high raise from pundit for ‘terrific tenacity’

Rangers winger Fashion Sakala was singled out for high praise by Rangers TV commentator Tom Miller after a lively start to Wednesday’s game vs Livingston.

The Zambian was the most lovely Light Blues player in the first half as he regularly tested the Livi full-back to great effect.

There was one particular run where he beat three or four players before feeding Alex Lowry, who shot low straight at the Livingston goalkeeper.

“Terrific tenacity from Fashion Junior, he’s just a bundle of energy and so aggressive with the ball,” Miller said.

“When he opens his legs up and he gets the wrong side of defenders, he can cause a lot of confusion.

“He’s always looking to create and find an area to affect the game.”

Making his case

Sakala is the beneficiary of Ryan Kent’s red card against Aberdeen and he has been taking his chance on the Gers’ left-hand side.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will certainly be pleased to see the 24-year-old pushing for a more permanent place in his team with Scott Wright currently occupying the right flank.

If Sakala keeps up this form, then he could find himself replacing Wright on the opposite wing when Kent returns from his suspension.

He may also persuade van Bronckhorst away from trying to sign a new winger in the remaining days of the January transfer window as he bids to prove he is good enough.

He was the main source of everything good that Rangers did in the first half and could play a key role in the title race with the Old Firm derby just one week away.
