Giovanni van Bronckhorst reveals if John Souttar will join Rangers this month
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has suggested today (25 January) that Rangers could consider bringing John Souttar to Ibrox this month.
Rangers have already agreed a pre-contract deal with the 25-year-old Hearts defender who is out of contract in the summer.
However, there have been talks in the media that the Gers could bring him to Ibrox this month, especially with the future of Connor Goldson still unresolved.

Van Bronckhorst said, as quoted by The Scotsman: “I said before, we are happy that John will join us next season. I think he will only come this window if we think it’s the right thing to do. If not, we will welcome him in a couple of months.”
Unlikely
The injury to Ianis Hagi could change the situation.
Hagi underwent knee surgery yesterday (24 January) and Van Bronckhorst has confirmed that he won’t feature again this season.
In such a scenario, the Dutchman could be tempted to sign a right-winger rather than spending money on Souttar who will arrive on a free transfer in a few months’ time.

Moreover, bolstering the defence is not Rangers’ immediate priority.
Having said that, the situation could change if any club comes up with a good offer for Goldson and Rangers may find it hard to refuse it.
As of now, it seems Rangers could still make a permanent move for Souttar this month. But after Hagi’s injury, Van Bronckhorst might alter his plans.
In other Rangers news, this member of the Gers squad is close to signing a new contract.
