Rijeka winger Robert Muric tempted by move to Rangers
Rijeka winger Robert Muric is reportedly tempted by move to a big club of Rangers’ stature.
According to Hungarian media outlet Germanijak, Gers have not made an offer to sign the 25-year-old Croatian winger.
It is understood that his arrival would mean a great deal to Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
There’s not much about Muric that should get any Gers fan excited and this is not a move the club must avoid at all costs.
The 25-year-old may not be a household name in European football, but is clearly doing well in his domestic competitions.
This season, he has scored seven goals and provided six assists in 15 league games and has also bagged a solitary goal in two cup appearances.
According to scouting writer Patrick Caskie, who wrote about him on Rangers Review, “He is an incredibly dynamic winger who provides a tangible goalscoring and creative threat.”
Given the uncertain futures of Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent, it does make sense for the club to have backup options in case they leave.
While there is nothing concrete to the Muric links yet, it’s good to see that the Gers at least have some options lined up.
Whether or not they follow through with them remains to be seen, but as things stand they’re in a comfortable position.
We’re still unaware as to how much he’ll cost but given how little there is being reported about him, he could arrive for a bargain.
