Tam McManus reacts as Rangers lodge complaints with Scottish FA after Aberdeen game

Tam McManus has reacted on his personal Twitter account after Rangers lodged complaints with the Scottish FA after the Aberdeen game.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men were held to a 1-1 draw at Pittodrie on Tuesday, and the visitors were far from pleased with the officiating of referee Kevin Clancy, highlighting eight points of concern.

McManus also had complaints about some of the official’s calls, expressing his thoughts on Twitter throughout the game, but he could not believe that Rangers held talks with the authorities after feeling hard done by.

He said: “Does this only happen when a decision (red card) goes against them?”

No crime doing that

Rangers dropped two points that could end up proving very crucial in the title race, and it is only normal for them to make their feelings clear.

With just four points separating them from Celtic at the top of the table, the Bears would not have been pleased with the officiating from a game they could have won if the right calls were made.

McManus himself was not impressed to see that the Dons were not awarded a penalty in the first-half, and he slammed Clancy for sending off Ryan Kent, dubbing it an “embarrassing red card”.

The Light Blues complained about it too and are right to do so.

They were also concerned about Scott Brown not getting cautioned for simulation during the incident, and Lewis Ferguson’s equaliser from the spot should clearly have been retaken after replays showed the ball was in motion, due to the wind, before it was hit.

Concerns were also raised about the late incident involving Borna Barisic and Jonny Hayes which resulted in the Rangers left-back needing medical treatment for a bloodied nose, with Clancy allowing Aberdeen have a free-kick while the visitors were down to nine men.
