Barry Ferguson says Rangers don’t need to panic after Aberdeen draw
Rangers drew 1-1 against Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership clash on Tuesday (18 January) after the winter break.
The Bears legend, Barry Ferguson, has suggested that talks of Rangers hitting the panic button are premature and that the Gers are still in a very good situation.
He has agreed that the performance and the result could have been better, but overall, it’s “silly” to suggest that this is the start of decline just after one match.

“Panic? Don’t be silly. They are exactly where they wanted to be at this stage in the season. The situation is still under their control,” wrote Ferguson in his column for The Daily Record.
“You only start to panic when you need the other team to lose games and, if I’m not mistaken, that’s exactly the position Celtic are in at the moment.”
Spot on
Ferguson is absolutely spot on here.
This was their opening game after the break and some of the players looked rusty.
It wasn’t a good performance overall but a draw away at Pittodrie isn’t a bad result considering the circumstances.
The Ibrox legend has criticised the referee, Kevin Clancy, for some of his decisions, adding there’s nothing to be concerned about.

Rangers are still four points ahead of Celtic. All they need to do is regroup again and start hitting the levels they were in before the break.
They have a strong squad and Giovanni van Bronckhorst will have to find a way to bring balance in the midfield.
The Gers are missing the services of Joe Aribo, Steven Davis and Scott Arfield at the moment.
New signing James Sands made his debut in the previous match playing alongside Glen Kamara.
The Dutchman is still undefeated since taking charge of the club, but the winning streak in the league was ended.
In other Rangers news, this ex-manager wants to see a Rangers star earn another contract despite concerns.
