Michael Stewart delivers Rangers-Celtic verdict ahead of Old Firm derby
Michael Stewart has taken a swipe at the lack of depth in the Rangers side and believes it could be damning in terms of the title race this season.
Ahead of the Old Firm clash on February 2, Stewart believes that Celtic’s January acquisitions could give them the upper hand.
In his opinion, Gers are not the same team without their key players and will be there for the taking in their absence.

He said on BBC Sportsound, “I said this before the game (vs Aberdeen) and it wasn’t about the starting XI, that’s the weakest bench Rangers have had in a long time.
“You look at the starting XI, it was ok. It was a good team there’s no doubt about it, but not nearly as strong as Rangers have been in the past.
“A lot was made last night about the additions that Celtic have brought in, the players that they’ve got back from injury as well. So the game at Celtic Park in a couple of weeks is going to be very, very interesting because what team is put out is going to have a huge bearing on it.
“If the two teams put out their strongest XIs then it’ll be very difficult to choose between them, but you can start to see there if you pick out a few of those important players from the Rangers team it’s clearly had a big impact on that performance tonight.”
Bit odd
Gers were on a winning run until last night’s game and it’s only normal to drop a few points on your way to the title.
It seems like Stewart was holding his words until they stopped winning and then started his rant about everything that is not right at the club.

They could certainly do with a couple of more players in January, but this squad is absolutely good enough to win the title.
Stewart, quite frankly, does not make a point as always and is showing his anti-Rangers bias.
Hopefully, the club beat Celtic in the Old Firm and silence the critics once and for all.
It would also ensure that the Gers have one hand on the title and should go on a run to secure number 56 after that.
In other Rangers news, a BT Sport pundit has claimed that the Gers will seal a January deal for an ‘Incredible’ int’l ace
