View: One change, debut for James Sands - Predicted Rangers XI vs Aberdeen
Rangers are expected to make one change from their win over St Mirren when they take on Aberdeen tonight in the Scottish Premiership.
The return of the league following a winter break will see Rangers come back with a three point lead at the top after Celtic’s win last night.
The club have made one change to their squad during the transfer window, losing Nathan Patterson to Everton and bringing in James Sands from New York City FC.
In the first game back, Rangers will look to pick up where they left off and that means minimal changes to the team.
Allan McGregor will continue in goal, while the defence is likely to remain unchanged from the win over St Mirren pre-Christmas as James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Calvin Bassey and Borna Barisic will start.
Joe Aribo is away on international duty with Nigeria at AFCON, so James Sands should come in for his debut in midfield alongside Glen Kamara, with Ianis Hagi slightly ahead of them.
Ryan Kent and Scott Wright will keep their place on the wings, while Alfredo Morelos continues upfront as he searches for a second golden boot of his Ibrox career.
Here’s what we predict the starting XI will look like;
McGregor; Tavernier, Goldson, Bassey, Barisic; Kamara, Sands; Wright, Hagi, Kent; Morelos.
