Sky Sports pundit slams Rangers star Ianis Hagi for ‘needless’ act
Rangers attacking midfielder Ianis Hagi was slammed by Sky Sports pundit Andy Walker during the first half of their game against Aberdeen.
The Romanian received a very early yellow card for failing to retreat ten yards when the Dons had a free kick in their own half.
Hagi was moved to the number ten role for this evening’s game in the absence of Joe Aribo who is at the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria.

“It’s the most needless yellow card for Hagi, so early in the game,” Walker said on Sky Sports Main Event on Tuesday night [07:50pm].
He added: “Managers tend to take off players who are carrying a yellow card.”
Lack of Experience
Let’s not get too irate at Hagi’s downfall here, he is only 23 years of age and that means he is still learning his trade.
Yes, it was a silly, unnecessary booking but he will learn from that and the senior players in the dressing room should be able to point that out without degrading him.

As he goes on in his footballing career, wherever it takes him, he’ll learn that five minutes in, not even in your half is not the time to be blocking free-kicks to slow the game down.
The Rangers defence will have been able to handle whatever came at them from that far away and Giovanni van Bronckhorst won’t be best pleased with the Romanian.
But there are far worse things one can do on the football field and this small act has already been forgotten about now he has scored so soon after.
In other Rangers news, this Ibrox-linked midfielder has handed in a transfer request at his current club.
