Title win may play big factor in bringing Danilho Doekhi to Rangers
Rangers quest to sign Vitesse defender Danilho Doekhi may hinge on their ability to retain their SPFL crown this season.
According to The Daily Record, it could play a major factor as the winners of the league are all but guaranteed a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Gers have already signed James Sands and completed a summer agreement for John Souttar this month.

The 23-year-old Doekhi is set to leave the Dutch club in the summer and has claimed that playing continental football is his next goal.
He told Dutch outlet De Volkskrant, “My dream? Playing in the Champions League and for the Netherlands.
“I watch his game a lot (Van Dijk). I try to analyse on a detailed level how he handles certain competition situations.
“If I continue to develop as I am doing now, I think I can reach the top one day.”
Snap him up
Doekhi is free to discuss terms and sign a pre-contract agreement ahead of a summer move.
Having nailed Souttar down to a contract, Gers must now do the same thing with the Dutchman.
At 23, he’s already showing signs of reaching the very top and the fact that Giovanni van Bronckhorst is at the helm could make things easier for the defending champions.

Growing up, Doekhi clearly would have watched and read stories of the former Netherlands international.
Working under him, in many ways, could be like a dream come true for him.
It seems that Gers just need to nail down the title before they’ll be in a position to sign more players of Doekhi’s calibre.
