Rangers want ES Setif midfielder Ahmed Kendouci
Rangers are keen on signing ES Setif midfielder Ahmed Kendouci, but they face competition from Celtic, according to Algerian outlet DZ Foot.
The Algerian international, 22, was tipped to leave for Europe in the summer, but a move could now be on the cards following some impressive performances for his country’s top-flight side, and suitors should be able to afford the club’s demands.
Kendouci has caught Rangers eyes with his displays so far this season, and while they are yet to table an offer, it is believed that he could be on his way out of North Africa this month with a good offer.
The young midfielder appears to have a lot of quality and potential to have attracted Celtic too, and the Ibrox outfit will be keen to pip their bitter rivals to his signature.
At the moment, a central midfielder is not top of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s list given the options currently available at his disposal, but that could be a different case in the summer.
Both Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara have been linked with Premier League moves, while John Lundstram could move on if he continues to struggle for playing minutes under the Dutchman.
The Bears could be in need of another player in the position, and landing Kendouci in a bargain deal would make sense.
He has a lot of resell value given his age, and it is what a club like Rangers thrive on.
With the Hoops also keen, the Light Blues could be forced to move for the youngster this month in order not to miss out on him.
He bagged 11 goals and provided 11 assists last term despite being a central midfielder, and such a quality player could help boost either side’s chances in the title race.
In other Rangers news, a report has shared which players GvB will allow to leave Ibrox this month.
