Steven Gerrard reacts as Jermain Defoe leaves Rangers
Steven Gerrard has shared his heartfelt reaction after Rangers confirm the departure of Jermain Defoe.
Defoe has left the Gers following three years of excellent service.
The former Tottenham striker has left the Scottish champions after making just two appearances this season.

Gerrard has posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, where he wrote “What a player! What a man! Class”.

Excellent service
Defoe joined the Gers as a Premier League legend already, and he has left Rangers with head held high.
He has netted 32 goals in 74 appearances for the club and played a crucial role last season as the Bears won the Scottish Premiership title.
The 39-year-old was also part of the coaching staff at the club this season before Giovanni van Bronkhorst arrived.
Defoe scored his 300th career goal when he netted against Livingston last November. He also scored in the famous 4-1 victory over Celtic in the Old Firm derby.
However, his influence on the side goes beyond that. Off the pitch, he has been a mentor to lots of young players and fellow teammates have learnt from him.
Meanwhile, Rangers have recalled Cedric Itten from his loan spell at German club Greuther Furth.
The 25-year-old scored twice in 12 appearances this season, and will be asked to fill the void left by Defoe at the club.
In other Rangers news, a young star is set for a loan move to England after a call from a Premier League legend.
