Aston Villa expected to cool interest in Rangers duo Glen Kamara and Ryan Kent

Aston Villa have reportedly cooled their interest in Rangers duo Glen Kamara and Ryan Kent amid recent developments.

According to The Scotsman, they have shown an interest in Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma which could end their pursuit of Kamara.

Recently, they announced the loan signing of Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona and that lessens the chance of them tabling an offer for Kent this month.

Both players have been linked with Villa Park moves after Steven Gerrard was announced as their manager towards the back end of 2021.

Good news

There were always going to be solid links to Aston Villa after Gerrard was handed the throne at the club.

He shared a great working relationship with a number of the key Rangers players during his time at Ibrox.

Kamara and Kent were two players that thrived under his stewardship as he helped take their games to the next level.

With them nearing their peak, a move to the Premier League would have made sense, but as things stand, they’re set to stay on at the Glasgow giants.

However, that is not to say that Villa will not return with a renewed interest in the summer.

Their owner Wes Edens is an American billionaire and has not shied away from investing money into the club.

It remains to be seen whether they make an attempt to sign them at the end of the season.
