‘One of their best’ – Micky Mellon hails Rangers starlet Josh McPake
Tranmere Rovers boss Micky Mellon has hailed Rangers youngster Josh McPake as ‘one of their best talents’.
Aged 20, McPake has endured several loans with his most recent spell at League One side Morecombe being plagued with injuries.
The Coatbridge youngster has now joined the Merseyside club on a loan deal until the end of the season.

“We are pleased to get him in. We are pleased with what Rangers have said to us and I agree, he’s one of their best talents outside the first-team group.” Mellon told Daily Record.
“They want him among that. We will try and develop him like we do all the loan players that come here.
“He adds variety and a different type of threat in wide areas. We will need that as it’s nice to know you have different talents who can help you get a result.”
Development
McPake is one for the future at Rangers, his talent is clear with everyone at Ibrox well aware of what he can do.

The kid himself is not shy of confidence on or off the pitch boasting that he is a ‘quick, tricky and direct winger’ when speaking on how he hopes to make an impact at Tranmere.
At this stage of his career the Scot just needs to get his head down and play some football. His move to Merseyside will certainly be a successful one if the dynamo can stay fit.
McPake needs experience. He will be confident that if he is backed with consistent first team minutes, the goals, assists and performances will be synonymous.
After a disappointing loan spell last time out at Morecombe, the Gers youngster will have added determination to prove himself and there is no better place to do it than Prenton Park in the midst of a promotion battle.
