Jack Harrison reacts as James Sands announces Rangers move

Rangers new man James Sands has taken to his personal Instagram account to announce his move to Ibrox from New York City.

The USA international midfielder, 21, has joined the Premiership giants on an 18-month loan deal, and his former teammate and Leeds United ace Jack Harrison has reacted in the comments section.

Sands is Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s first signing as Rangers manager, and the versatile youngster will be hoping to hit the ground running when action resumes after the winter break.

He said: “Couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter. Let’s go.”

With the Elland Road forward replying: “Good luck, bro.”

Good deal?

Sands will be looking to seal a permanent move to the club before the end of his loan spell, and he will need to impress for that to happen.

The Light Blues have an option to buy the USMNT sensation, and it will be interesting to see how things go.

The American can also play at centre-back, and has featured at right-back too, so he could end up becoming a replacement for Nathan Patterson, who left for Everton earlier in the week.

Rangers need someone to provide cover and competition for James Tavernier, and Sands could be their man.

With English centre-back Connor Goldson and the midfield duo of Glen Kamara and Joe Aribo linked with Ibrox exits ahead of the summer transfer window, GvB could have someone ready to step in should any of them move on.

Sands’ former teammate at NYC Harrison has been able to establish himself in the Premier League with Leeds, and the youngster will fancy his chances of doing so in the Premiership with Rangers.

In other Rangers news, a report has shared which players GvB will allow to leave Ibrox this month.
