Rangers outcast Nikola Katic edges closer to exit after losing jersey number
Rangers defender Nikola Katic is understood to be unhappy that the club handed his number 19 to new signing James Sands, per the Daily Record.
Currently on loan at Hajduk Split, he is unlikely to make his return to the Gers team and appears set for an exit at the end of the season.
Split do have an option to buy in his contract and that could be exercised in the summer.

The report claims that the writings look like they’re on the wall and the 25-year-old is destined for life away from Ibrox.
No choice
Having joined the club in 2018, Katic put in a number of spirited performances that justified the hierarchy’s faith in him.
He appeared to be a resolute stalwart at the back and won over the support of former manager Steven Gerrard.
The now Aston Villa manager was a big fan of him and labelled him “fantastic” in 2019.
However, the past year or so has not been ideal for him and it makes sense for the club to look for alternatives and let go of him.

Hopefully, Hajduk Split exercise their option to buy so Gers will not have to look for suitors next summer.
He’s likely to have played his final game for the club and it doesn’t seem that Giovanni can Bronckhorst holds him in high regard.
The Dutchman would certainly want reinforcements at the heart of his defence, but Katic is not the player he wants during his rebuild.
