BBC journalist: Rangers may sign Andreas Skov Olsen next after Wednesday update
Tom English claims Andreas Skov Olsen appears to be one of Rangers next top targets after they completed their first January signing on Wednesday.
USA midfielder Sands, 21, has joined the Gers on an 18-month loan from New York City with the option for the deal to be made permanent. Sands’ move to Ibrox was confirmed at 7pm on 5 January.
BBC Scotland journalist English has now suggested who Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s next transfer target may be and he feels as though 22-year-old Bologna and Denmark winger Skov Olsen is on the Ibrox radar.

“Celtic’s recruitment has been breakneck – and it’s probably not done yet – while Rangers are still easing themselves into it,” wrote English on the BBC Sport website. “James Sands, the versatile American, completed a loan deal on Wednesday, and Andreas Skov Olsen, of Bologna and Denmark, appears to be near the top of their priority list too.
“Skov Olsen is an attacking, right-sided midfielder with plenty of international experience even though he’s only 22. He’s classy and he won’t be cheap, but what a prize they’re playing for this season. Barring a major turnaround, the champions of Scotland will go straight into the Champions League group stage. This is a £30m title.”

Attacking reinforcements
Rangers may be top of the Scottish Premiership and looking good for a second consecutive title and qualification to the Champions League group stages – but that doesn’t make our squad perfect.
Of course, perfection is impossible in football and there’ll always be areas to be improved in van Bronckhorst’s squad but the right-side of the attack is somewhere that needed to be added to during Steven Gerrard’s reign.
Gerrard loved to play Ianis Hagi out on the right and while the Romanian grew into that role, he’s naturally a player who enjoys playing in the middle and it’s better to get a natural right-sided player.

Fashion Sakala and Kemar Roofe have also both been played out wide when they probably prefer being up front so landing a player like Skov Olsen makes a lot of sense.
He’s a proper right-winger who’s good with the ball at his feet and can add a lot of power and goal threat to the attack at Ibrox.
English admits it may be a costly move for the Denmark interntional but with the bank balance looking good following Nathan Patterson’s move to Everton, there could be money available to fund a swoop for Bologna’s winger.
In other Rangers news, a move to hijack Aston Villa’s approach for this player has been mooted by a Sky Sports journalist.
