Watford table £2m bid to sign left-back Borna Barisic, Rangers respond
Rangers have rejected a £2million bid by Watford for left-back Borna Barisic, according to the Scottish Sun.
The newspaper reports that Claudio Ranieri has “admitted defeat” in his bid to sign the 29-year-old Croatia international, who’s a key part of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s first-team plans at Ibrox.
It is understood that the Gers want £5million for Barisic so after seeing their latest bid for Ibrox ace rejected, the Premier League side “pulled the plug on negotiations yesterday” (Monday).

Laughable
Although we admit that Barisic has had a tough season for Rangers, that £2million bid is way below what he’s worth.
Barisic is a full Croatia international, our first-choice left-back and has played a crucial role at Ibrox for some time now.
At 29, he’s at the peak of his career and selling him would mean that he’d need to be replaced due to Calvin Bassey being required at centre-back right now.
Barisic probably isn’t good enough to start for a Premier League club, if we’re honest, with the Croatian struggling against some of the Scottish Premiership’s worst sides this season.

But even so, we’d have expected Watford to offer more than just £2million for him when he still has two-and-a-half years left on his contract, plus the fact he’s vital for van Bronckhorst.
After selling Nathan Patterson to Everton in a deal worth up to £16million, Rangers don’t need the money but they do need a new back-up right-back.
Selling Barisic would give us more issues to solve.
