Rangers defender Borna Barisic could seal Premier League move – Top agent

Rangers defender Borna Barisic could leave the Gers to join Premier League in the future, according to a top agent in Croatia.

The Gers are reportedly on the verge of selling their exciting young talent, Nathan Patterson, to Everton for a club-record transfer fee.

And now, Croatian agent, Marjan Sisic has suggested that Barisic is expected to depart soon.

Rangers

“Borna Barisic is another member of the Croatian national team who has great prospects for changing his club soon,” said Sisic, as quoted by The Daily Record.

“And the position of left back is always in demand.

“He has been with Rangers for a long time now and has played well during that time.

“We know what happens there is that once you play well for Rangers or Celtic, you always win a move to the English Premier League and that’s what could happen here.”

No chance in January

Barisic is a key player for Rangers, and there’s no way he would be sold in January.

It seems a very generic statement from Sisic who is making a point that clubs in the Premier League will take notice once you play for a long time at a big club like Rangers.

The 29-year-old left-back joined the Gers in 2018 and has made over 130 appearances for the club in all competitions.

The Croatian agent is just making a general prediction that Barisic could seal Ibrox exit in the near future, and the Premier League would be the likely destination.

In the end, it all depends on the offer and how Rangers would look at it.

At the moment, there’s no reported concrete offer for Barisic. However, in the transfer market, things can change quickly – as we’ve seen with Nathan Patterson, who’s reportedly set to join Everton in a deal worth up to £16million [Sky Sports].

It remains to be seen whether Rangers can hold on to their other key players like Joe Aribo, Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent or Glen Kamara in this window.

In other Rangers news, the club want to sign a ‘Fantastic’ England international who is 28, and could get him to sign a pre-contract once the January window opens on 1st.
