Nathan Patterson leaves Glasgow as Ross Wilson brokers sensational Rangers exit deal - report

Rangers defender Nathan Patterson has already left Glasgow to undergo his Everton medical ahead of his Ibrox exit this week.

That’s according to the Scottish Sun, who also share that the young Scottish international is also negotiating his new contract at Goodison Park.

It is shared that Ross Wilson has brokered this “sensational” deal which was almost accepted immediately by the Ibrox board.

Patterson is set for a new “moneyspinning” contract at Everton, something that will have been impossible to turn down.

The 20-year-old was said to be frustrated at his lack of playing time behind James Tavernier at Ibrox after two bids were rejected from Everton over the summer.

Things haven’t changed, with the move finally set to go through for a club-record sale in Glasgow despite his lack of playing time.

Sensational.

No one wants their best young talents to leave the club, but when a deal is this good, you simply can’t turn it down.

Rangers have set a real benchmark here for any clubs looking to snatch their talents, with a club-record fee set to be pumped into Ibrox for a player who has played less than 50 times.

James Tavernier has years left on his current contract at the club and will continue to shine down the right, making Patterson a long-distant memory for now.

With Giovanni van Bronckhorst aware of the financial losses before he came in, most of them will be blown away by the sale of Patterson – something he must be delighted with.

This will also allow him to enter the market himself, and Wilson will now be switching his attention to incoming – watch this space.
