D-Day soon for Andreas Skov Olsen, Bologna ready to loan out forward wanted by Rangers

Bologna winger Andreas Skov Olsen is set to make a decision on his future “in the coming days” amid interest from Rangers, according to Bologna Sport News.

The Italian news website reports that Skov Olsen, 22, is “destined to leave Bologna on loan” in the January transfer window.

It is understood that as well as Rangers, Sampdoria are also an option that’s on the table for the Denmark international, who’s set to make a decision on which team he wants to sign for imminently.

Brian Laudrup 2.0?

It’s easy to draw comparisons to Skov Olsen and Laudrup.

They’re both wingers, they’re both Danish and they both played in Italy before moving to Rangers.

While Skov Olsen is yet to make that switch from Serie A to the Scottish Premiership, we sure hope that he does.

However, if he does join Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side before 31 January, then we hope that it’s a permanent move or at least a loan with an option to buy.

We don’t want to be stung by signing Skov Olsen on a straight-up loan deal, only for him to do well at Ibrox and then return to Bologna where his future gets thrown up in the air.

Skov Olsen is a right-sided winger who’s tall, powerful, good with his feet and likes to cut inside and have a go at goal.

Rangers could do with some extra quality out on the wings because Fashion Sakala and Ianis Hagi have played mainly on the right this season and it’s not exactly their natural position.

Skov Olsen is an out-and-out winger with six goals in 15 appearances for Denmark and three goals and five assists in 69 matches for Bologna.

He’s young, he can still improve and he’d be a decent addition at Ibrox this month.

In other Rangers news, the Gers have made an approach to sign this attacker whose value has been slashed from £6.7million.
