View: Three signings Rangers must make in January

As the January transfer window approaches, Giovanni van Bronckhorst will no doubt look to make key additions to his Rangers squad.

The Dutchman has started brilliantly since taking over from Steven Gerrard at the Gers.

But he will need to invest in key areas of his squad if he looks to continue their scintillating form of eight wins in his first nine games in charge at Ibrox and here, we look at three players who he should think about signing in January.

Francis Amuzu – Anderlecht

Amuzu is reportedly interested in joining Rangers, as per Voetbal24

The 22-year-old is out of favour at Anderlecht, despite manager Vincent Kompany being sure of Amuzu’s ‘quality’, and is interested in a move to Rangers.

With the Gers keen on the winger and van Bronckhorst utilising wingers in his tactical set up, Amuzu should do everything they can to bring the starlet to Ibrox in January.

With Ryan Kent the Bears’ only out and out winger, it is crucial that area is strengthened.

With his release clause sitting at a mere £3.4million, according to SportsWorldGhana, Rangers would be stupid not to make a move for the Amuzu.

Ciaron Brown

Rangers must try everything they can to sign Cardiff City’s Ciaron Brown in January.

The Gers and Celtic were said to be going head to head for the 23-year-old according to Football League World

The Bears can swoop in for the defender with a pre-contract offer in January with Brown yet to sign a new deal in South Wales.

Beating Celtic would be a double boost for Rangers who could likely get him for a bargain price.

John Souttar

Rangers should reconsider a move for Scotland international, Souttar. He could be an absolute steal in January with the centre back out of contract in the summer as per the Scottish Daily Mail.

The Bears could be in need of defensive reinforcements come the end of the season with Leon Balogun and Connor Goldson approaching the end of their contracts.

Souttar is a player with bags of experience having played a crucial role as Scotland snuck past Denmark 2-0 to earn a place as seeds in the World Cup play-offs.

His ‘strong character’ will certainly help Rangers going forward if they were to secure his signature.

In other Bears news, Cammy Bell says ‘irreplaceable’ Allan McGregor has final say at Rangers.
