Cammy Bell says ‘irreplaceable’ Allan McGregor has final say at Rangers
Cammy Bell has dubbed Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor ‘irreplaceable’ in goal for the amid retirement speculation.
Turning 40 next month, the Scot should be coming towards the end of his career, but he has found a new lease of life at Ibrox.
Bell has claimed it is McGregor who holds the power in whether or not he will continue to play for Rangers.

“Allan has always been a top goalie in my eyes and he’s one of the best that Scotland has ever produced.” He told Daily Record.
“He shows that form at the moment. In the past two or three seasons, he’s been a huge part in the things Rangers have done.”
“I think he is irreplaceable in the dressing room.
“But it’ll be whether Rangers can convince him to continue to play or not and I believe Allan will have the final say on that.
“I spoke to Allan about it a few years ago. It was just after a pre-season and he said: I don’t know why I put myself through this every year! But he loves football, he loves playing.
“The form that he is in, you’d think why would he retire?”
Work now rest later
On the back end of six successive clean sheets and sitting at the top of the league, retirement will be the last thing on the veteran’s mind.

You only get one career as a professional footballer and with McGregor in the form of his life he would be a fool to cut that short.
He isn’t just making up the numbers at Ibrox, he is playing a key part in this team.
There is one slight issue with the goalkeeper’s contract being up at the end of the season but if McGregor wishes, an extension deal will likely be put on the table.
Having been playing professional football for the best part of two decades, the Edinburgh boy may relish some time at home with his family.
That can wait for sure. It is hard to see McGregor retiring whilst still at the top of his game despite his age.
You could argue he would want to go out on top which is understandable but no matter what decision he makes come the end of his contract, he will always be a Rangers legend.
