Czech defender Kúdela learns court date after racist abuse of Rangers star Kamara
Ondřej Kúdela has learnt of his final court date as he faces the Court of Arbitration for Sport following his alleged racial abuse of Rangers star Glen Kamara.
Kúdela was found by UEFA to have racially abused Kamara during Rangers’ Europa League second leg game against Slavia Prague on 18 March. His final court date is now set as he prepares to learn his fate in front of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, tells The Daily Record.
The Czech centre-back is set to make his final appeal against a racism ban on 21 January, 10 months on from the on-field incident.

UEFA slapped Kúdela with a 10-match suspension after investigating the incident. This ruled the 34-year-old out of contention for Czech Republic’s Euro 2020 squad. His national side went on to reach the tournament’s quarter finals only to be knocked out by Denmark.
As quoted by The Daily Record, Kúdela’s lawyer Rene Cienciala said: “We have started international sports arbitration against UEFA and proceedings are now being transferred to the Swiss Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.
“Now we are waiting for the establishment of a panel of arbitrators and the submission of a comprehensive defence of the client.”
Kamara’s qualities
Despite the reports of Kúdela’s racial abuse, Kamara has continued to be a shining light for Rangers as the club push on towards the Scottish top-flight title.
Kamara’s qualities under Steven Gerrard have prevailed since Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s return to the club and his remarkable performances have seen him linked with Premier League giants.
With England’s top teams looking to bolster their midfields in the January transfer window, van Bronckhorst will be hoping Kamara’s head isn’t turned as he persists to be a vital part of Gers’ starting line-up.
Kamara’s exploits in midfield have seen him pick up three assists and a goal in 18 Scottish Premiership outings this season.
The Finn has also been a solid defensive presence in the middle of the park as well as helping the club progress the ball up the field.
The likes of Aston Villa, Southampton and Newcastle have all been linked with a move for the midfielder in recent days. But Rangers fans will be hoping the midfield masters stays put.
In other Rangers news, a top journalist claims the club could reignite their interest in a transfer target.
