Ryan Jack suffers ‘latest setback’ in injury recovery, Rangers star could be out for six weeks
Ryan Jack could be sidelined for another six weeks with the Rangers midfielder recovering from an injury setback, according to Chris Jack.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, the Glasgow Evening Times journalist claims the 29-year-old midfielder may not return to Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side until February.
Ryan Jack has been out of action since 4 December with what seems to be a recurrence of a calf injury and it’s unlikely we’ll be seeing the midfielder back in action any time soon.

“He’s had this latest setback and it seems a bit of a long road,” Chris Jack told GiveMeSport when discussing Ryan Jack.
“Another couple of weeks before he’s back in the fold, another couple of weeks to get him back up to speed and then another couple of weeks for him to establish himself in the team again. So, it’s looking like a frustrating start to the year for Ryan.”
Unfortunate
Jack’s injury issues are mounting and you have to start asking some serious questions about his long-term future.
On his day, the former Aberdeen star is one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership. But when he’s injured as often as he is, is he becoming a burden on the club?
Jack is likely to be among the top-earners at Ibrox while he also takes up a spot in the Europa League squad and is a number on the board when it comes to looking at the depth of options in the midfield.

But it feels as though he’s injured more often than not with the 29-year-old regularly having issues in his time at Ibrox.
Whenever Jack played for Scotland, he seemed to come back injured. He’s never seemed totally comfortable playing twice a week more than a few times in a season and has barely played in the last year and a half.
Jack will enter the final year of his contract once this season is over and we’d be shocked, based on how things are going, if Rangers opt to extend his deal.
We want Jack fit and firing and playing every week. If he can’t do that, then there are players out there who we can replace him with.
