Rangers boss Gio van Bronckhorst hails Scott Wright
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has singled Scott Wright as an example for all players following his performance during Rangers victory over St. Mirren.
Rangers eased passed the Saints 2-0 on Boxing Day (December 26) in front of a near-empty Ibrox Stadium.
Goals from Wright and Alfredo Morelos saw the Gers maintain their six-point gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

His change in approach was successful as he told Daily Record: “When you are playing against a tight defence you need players comfortable on the lines, as you want to use the width to stretch them.
“That’s why I started Scott. I thought Scott would bring us danger on the right side, especially against a very defensive unit.
“I’m looking at the performances of the players, not just in games but also in training. We have so many different qualities in players up from and in midfield, so we can adjust our tactics depending on the opponent.
“Scott did well so the message is clear, if you perform well, if you’re training well, you always have a chance to play in the games.”
Terrific start
Van Bronckhorst has made an almost perfect start to his life at Rangers. He couldn’t have asked for more from his players and staff with the Gers boasting eight wins in nine games under the Dutchman.

After losing such a key figure in Steven Gerrard, many expected Rangers to struggle but they have managed to turn it up a notch under their new boss.
He is slowly but surely making them a more robust team, tightening the defence whilst keeping the free flowing attacking football Rangers love to play.
What is particularly impressive is his willingness to tweak systems and players.
Wright was well rewarded for his impressive displays in training and when he has been trusted with game time. This is something the 24-year-old paid back with his stellar performance and goal on the weekend.
GvB has been impressive in keeping the squad’s morale high during such a difficult period in the season. Keeping all the players on board will do nothing but good in the title challenge ahead and beyond.
