Aston Villa interest in Rangers ace Ryan Kent is an obvious one – journo
Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard is reportedly keeping all cards close to his chest amid links to Rangers attacker Ryan Kent.
The former Gers boss had a good working relationship with the Englishman during his time at the Ibrox.
Now, according to Birmingham Live’s Ashley Preece, links to a reunion with Kent are obvious.

“In terms of Ryan Kent, Gerrard loves him. We all know that given their success together at Ibrox. He was Rangers’ standout player and that’s going to be an obvious link. We’ll have to see with that one.
“Gerrard brought Kent on big-time at Rangers; spent a bit of money on him as well, £7million for a Liverpool academy product and believed in him and took him to a new level.
“Gerrard’s keeping his cards close to his chest at the moment and there’s nothing coming out in terms of agents speaking or anything with regards to Villa’s transfer plans for January.”
Should stay
Villa have an abundance of attacking players at the moment and Gerrard appears to be wanting every Rangers player at Villa.
The former Gers boss will certainly not want each of his ex-players and we believe that to be the case with Kent.

Sure, he may be an admirer of the player, as will many other managers in the world.
However, to actually make a move for him in January is taking a big step and the chances of that happening appear to be low at the moment.
Hopefully, Kent comes out and states that he’s going to stay at Ibrox for the foreseeable future so that these links are dead and buried.
In other Rangers news, the club want to sign a ‘Fantastic’ England international who is 28, and could get him to sign a pre-contract once the January window opens on 1st.
