Aston Villa not keen on Rangers ace Ryan Kent, January move for Kamara unlikely
Aston Villa are not interested in Rangers forward Ryan Kent, while a January move is unlikely for Glen Kamara, according to The Athletic’s Gregg Evans.
Ibrox stars have been linked with a move to the Midlands outfit since Steven Gerrard left in November, and the rumour mill is set to go into overdrive ahead of the winter transfer window.
However, it appears Villa are looking elsewhere for transfer targets for now, going by the reliable journalist Evans.

He said in The Athletic transfer Mailbag in reply to a question: “Kamara has been on Villa’s watch-list in the past, so he’s an interesting one but having just signed a new deal at Rangers, it looks unlikely in January.
“It wouldn’t surprise me to see Villa wait until the summer to bring in a new midfielder if they can’t get a top target either, unless there’s another injury to add to Marvelous Nakamba’s setback, then they will need to increase the numbers.
“I’m pretty sure it’s a no to Kent. Villa already have lots of options in the attacking areas.”
Great
Rangers are not interested in selling their top players right now with a title defence on the cards, and it will be relieving if Villa stay away from their players.
Not many of them will be able to turn Gerrard down if he comes calling, but a move for Kent is definitely not on the cards.
He has not done enough in 2021-22 to attract Premier League clubs as he has done in the past transfer windows, and Villa clearly will look elsewhere should they ever consider adding to the plethora of attacking options at their disposal.
Things could be different with Kamara, though, despite the fact that the Finnish ace, 26, only just penned a new contract with the Premiership giants until the summer of 2025.

The Athletic reported back in August 2021 that he was due to be rewarded for his performances with improved terms on the understanding that if a suitable bid comes in for him, then Rangers will do business.
He is one of several players the Light Blues are looking to make a profit on in the next few windows as they move to a sustainable recruitment model, but an early sale could be very tempting should billionaires-owned Villa come to the table with a huge offer.
In other Rangers news, a billionaire-owned club want Bears ace, had rep at Ibrox of recent.
