Rangers want to sign West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone
Rangers have reportedly shown an interest in signing West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.
According to TEAMtalk, Gers are keen on signing the 28-year-old England international.
The report claims that as his contract expires at the end of the season, they could offer the goalkeeper a pre-contract in January and complete his signing for free in the summer.

Good move?
Allan McGregor is 39 and it does make sense for Gers to think of a long-term replacement for him.
The custodian has served the club extremely well, but the time may have come for him to move on.
Johnstone, who has been labelled “fantastic” by Kevin Phillips, is more than a decade younger than him, and would be a fantastic replacement.
For a West Brom team that was one of the worst in the Premier League last season, he managed to stand out on a number of occasions.

It could be argued that he won his side more points than any other player individually did, but it was not enough to keep them in the top flight.
With only six months left on his deal, Gers have a rare opportunity to sign a keeper with world-class potential on a free.
There are other teams in the race, but the fact that Rangers are Scottish ensures that they can get him to sign a pre-contract, unlike the other English clubs.
It could be wise for the defending champions to get on their phones and convince him to join once the window opens.
