Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart takes thinly-veiled swipe at Rangers

Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart has taken a thinly-veiled swipe at Rangers while discussing fans’ tribalism in Scottish football.

The former England international should the Hoops in the summer and has already become their number one goalkeeper.

In the build-up to the Old Firm clash, he was invited to speak on talkSPORT, where he said a few interesting things without directly naming Rangers.

He said, “From what I’m getting from a true Celtic fan, they don’t really talk about anyone else. They are not particularly disrespectful about any other teams, apart from the obvious!

“When it comes to their club they live, they breathe and are proud to be Celtic.”

Bragging rights

Hart runs his mouth a great deal about their fans being disrespectful to the Gers support.

It will be interesting to see whether they’ll be singing come January 2, provided the matches go ahead.

Rangers have built a huge lead at the top of the table and could go three further should they beat their local rivals on the day.

Celtic have plenty of injury issues, so Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men go in as overwhelming favourites.

Even though the game is at Parkhead, Gers will fancy their chances of getting a result and silencing the home support.

As things stand, only 500 fans will be allowed to enter the stadium, but it would be all the more special to silence a capacity crowd.
