View: First team calls for impressive Rangers starlets
A number of young academy prospects have exceeded expectations at Rangers, sparking first team promotion calls.
Summer signing, Juan Alegria, has picked up most of the plaudits since signing from Finland in August. The 19-year-old scoring on his debut and already looking physically ready sparked calls for him to be promoted to the first team.
However, there are two Gers youngsters tipped to be ahead of Alegria in the queue to the senior squad.

Tony Weston and Charlie McCann have impressed in the Scottish Lowland League, both scoring hat-tricks in the 8-2 win over Edinburgh University – taking their league tallies to 19 and 9 respectively.
Youth
The youth set-up of any team has become increasingly important throughout the years. It is important to have a sustainable structure in place for the club’s development on and off of the pitch.
Even if Rangers current academy prospects fail to make an impact in the first team, they can offer great financial benefit when sold on. Money that can be reinvested into the first team.

However, it is far too early to be making any final judgements on the Bears’ current crop of youth talent. Despite setting the Lowland League alight, you have to consider the level of the opponent.
It is a huge step up both physically and mentally when stepping up to the first team, something these inexperienced players mustn’t let faze them.
Although, there is still a long way to go in their career with the next hurdle coming in the next 12-18 months.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst will have to make the decision whether they are good enough to make the step up to Auchenowie or whether they will benefit from loan deals, picking up key experience at a higher level.
