Rangers media partner Heart and Hand takes dig at Celtic

Heart and Hand, who are the official media partners of Rangers, have taken a dig at local rivals Celtic.

First minister Nicola Sturgeon announced that only 500 fans will be allowed at grounds, which would mean that the Firm on January 2 will not be a full house as expected.

This saw Celtic release a statement asking the SPFL to bring forward the winter break and reschedule the fixtures for a later date.

This immediately saw Heart and Hand send a tweet from their official handle, which read, “Odd that Celtic weren’t that bothered trying to ‘explore all opportunities’ to get games played in March 2020.

“I’m sure the fact they’re riddled with injuries and, let’s face it, scared of yet another beating from the Champions has nothing to do with it!”

Spot on

In normal circumstances, Celtic would have wanted the game to go ahead, albeit with restricted fans in attendance.

However, the fact that they’ve got plenty of injury worries could have led to them taking the convenient way out.

Rangers are on a good run of form and are still enjoying their new manager bounce post Steven Gerrard’s departure.

Should the game go ahead as planned, regardless of the venue and fans in attendance, Gers are the overwhelming favourites for it.

This would be Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s first Old Firm clash as manager and he would certainly have his players up for the fight.

It remains to be seen how this transpires, but we’re hoping that common sense prevails at the end.
