Club chairman reveals ‘sneaky’ nature of Juninho Bacuna transfer
Huddersfield chairman Phil Hodgkinson has revealed the terms of the £2million transfer that took Juninho Bacuna to Rangers were ‘sneaky’.
The Dutch midfielder joined the club in the summer from the Championship side but has so far failed to make any sort of positive impact at Ibrox.
Bacuna has made just two starts in all competitions since the move and has shown nothing of not to make Rangers fans excited about his arrival.

The 24-year-old spent three seasons in England with Huddersfield before the move, playing in the Premier League too, and club chairman Hodgkinson has revealed that the terms of the transfer were a bit ‘sneaky’.
“Rangers were interested in him back in January,” he said, via Ibrox Noise.
“They came back in and we ultimately did a deal where we didn’t get a transfer fee up front but we’ve actually done a really good deal.
“It’s appearance-based, European-based, with a big sell-on, we’ve got a significant sell-on, where we will ultimately at least get our money back.”

Weird
Bacuna’s arrival hasn’t been a positive thing so far so the ‘really good deal’ Hodgkinson speaks of is surely in favour of the Championship side.
By barely playing for the team, it seems unlikely that Rangers will be making much money in terms of selling him on in the future and with the big sell-on clause it’s possible they’ll make no money whatsoever on the deal.
With that said, having paid nothing up front for him it’s possible that the deal will just be one that is quickly forgotten by all in the famous blue in Glasgow.
It’s not like they’ve needed him much, securing progression to the Europa League knockout stages and leading the way in the Scottish Premiership by seven points at Christmas.
