Barry Ferguson confident of January signings for Rangers amid title race with Celtic
Barry Ferguson is confident that Rangers and Celtic will both make additions to their squads in the summer as they’re poised for a title race.
Rangers currently sit seven points clear of their arch rivals, having played a game more than them.
They remain favourites to retain the Scottish Premiership title, but will need to strengthen to get there, believes Ferguson.

Speaking on Go Radio Football Show, he said, “Do it (signings) when you’re on top. It’s clear that Celtic are going to strengthen, no doubt about it.
“But I think Rangers will as well because they’re top of the league by seven points, but I think it’s going to be really important.
“I’m looking forward to January because Celtic are clearly going to do a lot of business and I think Rangers will do some business as well.”
Imperative
Rangers cannot afford to show complacency and believe their squad is good enough to win the title.
While it actually may be stronger than Celtic’s, nobody knows when injuries can hurt a side and take a chunk of points away from them.
Should all of their players remain fit, then undoubtedly, Rangers are overwhelming favourites to win the league.

But, if Celtic sign a couple of game changers next month, things could be a lot different come May.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst will certainly be pushing the Gers board to sanction funds for signings in the summer.
A new centre-back could be on his way in and we may even see reinforcements at left-back and in central midfield.
Interesting few weeks ahead.
