Rangers attacker Alfredo Morelos linked with Aston Villa switch
Alfredo Morelos is among the latest Rangers player to be linked with a move to Aston Villa since Steven Gerrard took over at the helm.
According to the Birmingham Mail, the Colombian has been a target for Villa in the past, but Gerrard’s arrival has seen a possibility of them rekindling their interest.
However, they claim that the billionaire-owned Premier League club are unlikely to sign a striker in January.

The report reads, “The Colombian striker has been linked with a move to Villa before but talk has reignited following Gerrard’s move from Rangers.
“Morelos was one of Gerrard’s key men during his time at Rangers and helped fire the Ibrox side to the Scottish Premiership title as unbeaten champions last season.”
More Gerrard-driven news?
Since Gerrard took over at the helm, countless Gers players have been linked with a move south of the border.
Villa never seemed to have been interested in these players and now every position they’re looking at has one of their key names on their alleged list.
We don’t see any reason for Morelos wanting to leave in January as the club are under no real financial pressure to cash in on him.

Villa have Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins, who are two very good strikers that can fit Gerrard’s system.
Should one of them leave, then a possibility could arise for the former Gers boss to target Morelos.
As things stand, we think there is nothing to it and we’re confident that the Colombian stays until the end of the season.
He’s been relatively quiet this season, scoring just seven and assisting four from 17 league games, but we do expect him to pick up and thrive under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
