Rangers player ratings v Dundee United – Scott Arfield, John Lundstram flop

Rangers continued their winning league form under Giovanni van Bronckhorst with a 1-0 win against Dundee United on Saturday.

James Tavernier scored the only goal of the game via the penalty spot to secure maximum points for his side.

This win sees Rangers build a seven-point lead over second-placed Celtic atop the Scottish Premiership table.

Rangers

Allan McGregor 6

A quiet but commanding game from the Rangers stopper.

James Tavernier 8

Started the game at centre-back, but was soon moved to right-back. Scored the penalty that won Rangers the game.

Connor Goldson 7

An impressive performance from the Gers centre-back. Did well to keep the opponents at bay.

Calvin Bassey 7

Moved to centre-back after starting at left-back and did an exceptional job slotting in. Has really impressed over the last few games.

Nathan Patterson 6

Moved to left-back and it looked like it’s not his preferred role. Did struggle on certain occasions, but apart from that was fine.

John Lundstram 4

Not good enough in the first half and was rightly taken off by GvB at the break. Needs to improve.

rangers

Scott Arfield 4

Much like Lundstram, he was underwhelming as well and was deservedly axed post the hour mark. Not easy replacing Aribo.

Glen Kamara 8

Has the same rating as Tavernier, but was our man of the match. Started the game in an advanced position before moving to his customary midfield role. Ran the show and looked lively from the start.

Ianis Hagi 6

He had a few moments where he appeared threatening but nothing that caused the Dundee United defence too many problems.

Alfredo Morelos 6

Like Hagi, he would’ve liked to be involved more, but failed to get into the right positions and find the back of the net.

Ryan Kent 7

A good performance from the Englishman whose stock is only rising. Impressive runs from deep and some blistering moments on the ball.

Substitutes

Joe Aribo 6

Scott Wright 6
